The Town of Breckenridge Recreation Department is seeking a dedicated and customer service-oriented individual for the position of
Certified Yoga Instructor (Fitness Instructor II). This position is responsible for the design, instruction, and oversight of programs and involves maintaining knowledge of specific methodologies or practices for appropriate participant and/or employee education and utilizing appropriate techniques and progressions in order to ensure a quality product. Certified Yoga Instructors have a combination of knowledge, skills, experience, training, education, certification, or licensure in order to teach skills and provide an appropriate level of leadership.
Individuals in this position are responsible for planning and presenting a variety of yoga classes. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for providing a safe, effective, and appropriate group fitness experience for guests at varying levels of fitness. Individuals are also responsible for general cleanliness of the studio space, ensuring equipment is properly stored, providing a safe exercise environment, and maintaining current instructional certifications. Attendance at regular staff meetings is required.
Individuals with a 200-hour or 500-hour yoga certification are eligible to teach yoga classes. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Must demonstrate the ability to create and instruct a safe, appropriate yoga class.
- Must have one (1) or more years customer service experience.
- To qualify for this position, the candidate or employee must pass a criminal background check.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES REQUIRED:- Basic CPR, AED, and First Aid Certifications are required within 60 days of hire.
- Preventing Disease Transmission (PDT) required within 60 days of hire.
- One (1) or more of the following current certifications (applicants must attach certification with online application):
- 200 or 500 hour Yoga Certification.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:- One (1) or more years of customer service experience in a fitness environment
- Degree in recreation, exercise physiology or related area preferred.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Primary shifts for this position generally include early morning, day time, and evening shifts. Individuals in this position must be flexible in terms of availability; and may on occasion be required to work other shifts as needed, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
